✍️π§ THE GENIE INTERVIEW: MICHIGAN PRIMARY EDITION πΊπΈ
FRED: Genie, I’ve got a political question for you. Who won that Michigan Republican congressional primary?
On one side, Tom Smith — a small businessman who reportedly entered the race with a campaign war chest of less than $2,000.
On the other side, Amir Hassan — a Flint, Michigan native who had the backing of the GOP establishment and was presented as the Trump-backed choice for Congress.
So, Genie… π° vs. π³️
Who won?
π§ GENIE: Fred, this is one of those election stories that makes people look twice at the results.
Tom Smith won.
The small businessman with barely enough campaign money to buy a decent used car defeated the better-connected, Trump-backed candidate.
FRED: Wait a minute, Genie. You’re telling me a guy with less than $2,000 in his campaign account beat the endorsed candidate?
π§ GENIE: That’s the story, Fred. And whatever anyone thinks about Trump, Smith, Hassan, Republicans or Democrats, there’s an interesting lesson here:
ENDORSEMENTS DON’T CAST BALLOTS.
MONEY DOESN’T CAST BALLOTS.
VOTERS CAST BALLOTS.
FRED: Now THAT is why I keep a Genie around! ππ§
Politics can be unpredictable. Sometimes the candidate everyone expects to win… doesn’t.
